Explosion is a sativa-dominant hybrid that traces its roots to a bold cross of Mexican Tijuana, Hawaiian, and Vietnamite lineages. Classified as 70% Sativa / 30% Indica, this cultivar leans into a bright, energetic profile that suits daytime use and creative pursuits. Its buds are round and fluffy, emerald-green spade-shaped nugs adorned with thick red-orange hairs and chunky golden-white trichomes. The aroma carries tropical fruit notes with a spicy edge, while the flavor follows with a sweet, fruity citrus that finishes peppery. Also known as Xplosion or The Explosion, the strain earns its name with an unmistakable snap of impact on the first exhale.
Users report an immediate lift as the inhale gives way to a peppy, expansive euphoria that blasts away fatigue and lethargy. The high tends to spark motivation, sharpen focus, and ignite a lively creative spark, ideal for tackling projects or brainstorming sessions. A notable side effect for many is the munchies, so having snacks on hand helps keep the momentum going. The onset is quick, often hitting as you exhale, with a clean, cerebral lift that is the hallmark of this sativa-leaning profile.
Chemically, Explosion tests around 21 to 23 percent THC with 0 to 1 percent CBD, a ratio that supports its energizing, heady effects. Therapeutically, it is frequently employed to counter chronic fatigue, appetite loss or nausea, and depressive symptoms or mood swings, while also offering relief from headaches and ADD or ADHD for some patients. The flavor remains bright after consumption, balancing citrus, tropical fruit, and herbal-earthy undertones with a peppery finish, and the aroma reinforces that complex mix with layers of spice and fresh earth. Visually, its buds present as dense clusters of emerald green nugs, accentuated by orange-red pistils and a glaze of golden-white crystals that catch the light as they shimmer.
