UV-A Cannabis Strain

UV-A is a rare, heavily indica-dominant hybrid (roughly 90% Indica / 10% Sativa) born from crossing Purple Indica with Afghani #1 IBL. Although it remains elusive outside Canada and the West Coast, it has earned a loyal following among breeders and patients for its striking appearance and consistent, easy-to-work genetics.

Visually, UV-A sports large, chunky minty-green buds laced with deep purple undertones, bright orange pistils, and a thick coat of purple-tinted, frosty trichomes that drip with resin. As you break apart the nuggets, spicy pepper and hash notes rise from the sticky interior, followed by hints of blueberry and grape that bloom in the air when burned.

Flavors lean toward sweet earth with berry and grape accents, complemented by peppery spice. The effects settle in as a heavy body high paired with a calming cerebral lift—perfect for easing racing thoughts while inviting total relaxation and couch-lock. At roughly 14–20% THC, UV-A is often favored for evening use and may lend relief for conditions such as depression, insomnia, migraines, ADD/ADHD, and chronic pain.
